Frank Marsh

Borough Councillor for Sherrards (Welwyn Garden City)

I was elected in May 2019 and represent Sherrards Ward. I regard it as a privilege to serve my local community.

I formerly worked in Personal Injury Law for over 30 years, dealing with claims on behalf of people who had suffered serious and catastrophic injuries. Throughout my whole working life, I have been used to helping people with their problems.

I took voluntary redundancy in 2017 and bought the coffee shop at Welwyn Garden City Station in 2018, where I now work. I am active with Network Rail in seeking maintenance improvements the station desperately needs. I have been working closely with Lib Dem Councillor Malcolm Cowan.

I was born and brought up in East London and Essex and came to first work in Welwyn Garden City in 1995. Having had an Italian mother, I speak, read and write fluent Italian. I have lived in Sherrards for over 17 years since 2003. I am married to Michelle, a teacher and have three children, who went to Templewood Primary School.

I now sit on the following committees:

  • Climate Change Committee
  • Planning (known as DMC)
  • Estate Management Panel (EMP)
  • Constitutional Committee
  • Audit
  • Campus West

I also until very recently sat on the Climate Change Committee

I still believe that the following issues are extremely important for our community :

  • Youth provision
  • Preserving heritage and green spaces (good quality social and affordable housing with proper infrastructure).
  • Improving our environment
  • Saving Gosling Sports Centre and Ski slope.
  • Ensuring an open, caring and listening Council
  • Dealing with road and parking problems

I am always available to deal with your problems and you can contact me using the details below.
