Responding to the Government's u-turn on local election cancellations, Liberal Democrat Group Leader for Welwyn Hatfield, Sandreni Bonfante said: 

"The Liberal Democrats have fought tooth and nail to stop this Local Election cancellation stitch-up and the Government has been forced into a humiliating U-turn. We always stand up for democracy and instead of fearing Reform, we beat them week after week in council by-elections.
