New Deputy Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council

Welwyn Hatfield Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that at our Annual Group Elections held on 14th May, Cllr Jane Quinton has been elected Leader of the Welwyn Hatfield Lib Dem Council Group.

Jane, representing Panshanger Ward is one of our 16 Lib Dem councillors, after we gained two seats in Panshanger and Handside and held two other seats at the May 2024 Local Elections.

Jane says, “I am very happy to have been elected as the new leader of the Welwyn Hatfield Liberal Democrat group and am very grateful for the trust my group has placed in me. The Lib Dem group owes a tremendous amount to the tireless service from the previous leader, Paul Zukowskyj and I am really grateful for everything he has done for us. I look forward to building on the hard work from last year as we go forwards in the Joint Administration, continuing to deliver for the residents of Welwyn Hatfield and supporting our communities.”

At the Annual Council on May 20th, Jane will also take up the role of Deputy Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough council, as part of the Joint Administration with Labour.
