Lib Dem Led Full Council Off To A Lively Start
It was great to to see the new Joint Administration off to a flying start in the council chamber, at a lively Full Council meeting last light.
As a council we have immediately introduced greater public opportunities into council meetings, by allowing questions to be tabled later. This gives members of the public increased opportunities to ask key things of their elected representatives, which is a key step forward.
Among other issues discussed, our Lib Dem cabinet members updated members, and the public on the successful and swift conclusion of the recent refuse dispute, and planned improvements to the grass cutting services. There was also a lively debate centered around climate change and protests which resulted in our amended motion being successfully passed.
The image shown is of our Liberal Democrat colleague and Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, Paul Zukowsykj standing with Deputy Leader Lynn Chesterman, showing the unity that was on display throughout the meeting.
