Results Of The Selected Poll

Question:

Do we need a new swimming pool in Welwyn Garden City and if so, should it be located in the planned Broadwater Devleopment in Peartree or at another location?

Our Opinion:

Our town was deprived of its pool when Stanborough Splashland closed down. Since then, successive Tory councils have done nothing to replace this very necessary resource. Our local residents travel to Hatfield, Hertford, Harlow, Ware, Watford or Letchworth in order to swim. A swimming pool in Peartree would help to restore pride and would mean local residents would use the town on both sides of the railway bridge. Even the planners have said it is very possible. The Combined Heat and Power plant would be ideal for serving this leisure facility. - But only the Liberal Democrats are supporting this. No wonder a lot of people are saying we should be the new opposition. How about it, Welwyn Hatfield.
