A memorial service will be held for Daniel Cooke, Councillor for Handside Ward, parliamentary spokesperson and party chairman, who died so sadly in 2005. Daniel was elected as a District Councillor in June 2004. Daniel was a popular and well-loved local person, someone devoted to politics and one of life's gentlemen. Daniel had many friends and many interests. Daniel was a charismatic figure who made you feel that you were the focus of his special attention when he was with you.

Daniel's Liberal Democrat campaign included getting the white bridge cleaned up, just one small aspect of his campaign to restore our pride in the Garden City. Daniel took an interest in international politics from an early age, and had political contacts in many parts of the world.

The service will be held in St Thomas More Church in Knebworth, at 7.15 on Tuesday 28th March.
